Child of God, we must not isolate ourselves from true believers, and believers that will watch for you, and you for them.

Each of us as believers should have the other’s back. Though we must not neglect the gathering of ourselves together (in church), outside the church we must watch for other believers, not only the weak, but the strong as well.

Sometimes I think that we forget that even the strong and established Christian needs encouragement, and lifting up in prayer as well.

They need to see that we love them and are concerned for them just as we are concerned with the weak and needy. We need to love, care for, and encourage anyone in the body of Christ that we see needs it at the time.

(Ecc 4:12) “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

Have you ever participated in the game ‘Tug of War’? I’m sure most of us have. In the game, the two teams place the same number of people on each team and each side tries to pull the other team over the forbidden line.

But just imagine if you are on one end of the rope, but this time (the rope is invisible), and there is a whole host of demons pulling against you on the other side (perhaps hundreds).

Though in Christ, you have the potential of winning any battle, because He cannot be defeated, the odds of winning all by yourself are not very encouraging.

(Gal 6:2) “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ”.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

It means hold up, and encourage your brother or sister in the Lord. Do you need encouragement? Of course, we all do. Without it, our faith becomes weak, and weak faith cannot hold fast to an all powerful God.

So, we, not God become the weak link. God cannot fail, but a discouraged Christian, has lost his focus, and He doesn’t have his mind on the God who cannot fail.

True, we are to become stronger and stronger by trusting in God and holding fast to His Word, but even then, because we are human, we must uphold, pray for, battle together against, and use our spiritual weapons together with other believers to defeat the powers of darkness that are assaulting us every day.

Together, trusting, believing, obeying God makes us an army and force to be reckoned with. We each wield our sword, the ‘Sword of the Spirit’ which is the ‘Word of God and are strengthened by the power of the Spirit, and two swords are better and more powerful than one.

Putting up our multiple shields together forms a powerful force that the fiery darts, (arrows) of the wicked one cannot easily pierce or penetrate, and our shields are strong, and covered by the fire of the Holy Ghost which can easily quench the inferior fiery darts of the Devil.

Through many battle-scars and dented shields, our skill in the use of the ‘Sword of the Spirit’, (The Word) becomes undefeatable, terrifying our enemy.

Trusting fully in Jesus Christ, our Commander and Chief, gives us the victory, time and time again. AMEN, and AMEN.
