Rebellious thoughts. What are ‘rebellious thoughts’? They are thoughts that are in contradiction to the Word of God. They contradict thoughts that Christians are to think on. (Phil. 4:8) “Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things.”

We must, we absolutely must, learn to control our thoughts. Discipline of our thoughts must be learned and practiced because these thoughts steer our lives either into disaster or into favor and blessing.

You may say, “I’m not rebelling against God. I simply have a hard time controlling my thoughts (many of us do), yet thoughts that are not brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ are considered rebellious by God. If you are having trouble with them, confess them to God, and ask Him to help you control your thoughts. Trust Him, and work on it. Really, I mean it, work on it because it is also a door, an open door by which Satan can enter your thought life and control both you and your thoughts. Learn discipline. An undisciplined life and undisciplined thoughts are an easy target for Satan, and he has no problem whatsoever in gaining control of your life through an uncontrolled thought life.

With every act of rebellion against God and against God’s laws of love concerning our treatment of our neighbors the Powers of Darkness are able to put chains of bondage on each one of us. Without quickly regaining control of our thoughts and bringing them into captivity to the obedience of Christ the Devil is able to dismantle our lives and bring us to utter destruction.

Judgment comes upon us when we love the nature of Satan to hate our neighbor and to have contempt toward them, rather than to love the nature of God and love our neighbor. (Matt. 22:37-40) “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and (strength). And the second is like unto it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself”. On these two laws depend all the law and the prophets”.

God permits the hearts of every man to be tested. Every day, without fail, the powers of darkness tempt our hearts against our neighbors and entice us with allurements from the flesh, and the world. Satan will control all hearts who fail to receive wisdom and knowledge from God and His Word which teaches them to walk in ‘LOVE’. Every person spends his life living for himself, and doesn’t have much concern for His neighbor, but it must not be that way with those who belong to God. Let’s make sure our lives our lived for God, and our thoughts are controlled by the Word of God, and that those God inspired thoughts steer us into paths of righteousness, blessing, and caring for others. Amen.
