(Ephesians 6:10-11) “Finally my brethren be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might…PUT ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO STAND AGAINST THE ‘STRATEGIES’ OF THE DEVIL”
We discussed in the last lesson that it was necessary that we be strong in order to win our battles against the Devil. But the question is, where do we draw the kind of ‘Strength Necessary’ to defeat the Devil.
We discovered that it was impossible to muster enough strength in our own natural and innate abilities. The only strength that the Devil would respect would be the Strength that we would draw from the Lord. So, yes, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might”.

The Devil never respects weakness and will always take advantage of it whether it be mental weakness, physical weakness, emotional weakness or spiritual weakness.
Although spiritual strength is most important of all, the other three parts of our being also contribute to our success or failure in our mortal combat. We need God to strengthen us in every part of our being.
(Ephesians 6:11) “Put on the full armor of God that you may be able to stand against the ‘Schemes’ of the Devil”.
Dear Reader, you must understand that it isn’t enough to put on just part of the armor of God, but we need each and every piece, to be ready in a split second to utilize another part of the armor to prevent being wounded as the enemy’s strategy will demand the use and protection of another piece of our armor.
(2 Cor. 2:11) “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us, for we are not ignorant of his strategies.” Do you see why we need to have on the full armor of God?”
Not only do we need to have on the whole armor of God, but we need to understand and know what he’s up to.
How are we going to know his strategies?
I see three ways.
NUMBER ONE: Knowing what the Word of God says about Him. How he thinks, how he schemes, and plans.
NUMBER TWO: Through actual experience in combat. We learn a lot about the Devil’s strategies through what we are faced with and how and when, and under what circumstances he attacks us. So what we have experienced in actual combat is very valuable in our battle against the ‘Powers of Darkness’.
We learn what each part of the armor is actually for and how we are protected by wearing it (them). We also become skillful in the use of our defensive armor.
We must study and memorize the Word of God and know it well in order to fend off the harmful blows of the Devil.

We are to take the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and as we battle with it day by day, we become more and more skillful in it’s use, and the Devil becomes terrified as he sees how good we get at using and wielding that Sword of the Spirit.

As we complete verse – 2 of Ephesians 6, let me say that the ‘Armor of God’ is more than just symbolism, though it’s all of that.
The ARMOR OF GOD IS A VERY REAL ARMOR THAT CAN ACTUALLY BE SEEN IN THE ‘SPIRIT REALM’.
Our human spirit uses our weapons as directed by the Holy Spirit. We’ll continue our study next time. GOD HELP YOU TO BECOME SKILLFUL IN THE USE OF YOUR SWORD.
