(Ephesians 6:10) “Finally my Brethern, be Strong in the Lord and in the Power of His Might…”

READ: IS DELIVERANCE A DIRTY WORD?

We human beings have a tendency to either exaggerate our strength or to minimize it. Some very aggressive type individuals and those who like to take the ‘bull by the horns’ tend to be Over-Confident. They are over confident because they feel they can handle the situation all by themselves.

They want to impress the Lord with their natural power, strength and ability to handle a situation as Christians for the Lord, but eventually fail altogether, or build the work of God on ‘SINKING SAND’, rather than the ‘SOLID ROCK’.

Then there are those who feel they can never accomplish what God in His Word says they can accomplish. They fail because they feel they have to do everything they do for the Lord with their own human strength, and they recognize that they don’t have that kind of strength.

But what these kind of Christians don’t understand is, that they need to be united to and with the Lord and His strength to get the job done for or (with) the Lord’s empowerment.

God usually doesn’t do the work He called us to do, but He works with us and strengthens and enables us to get it done ‘WITH’ His power and strength. In order for that to happen we must unite with the Lord and together work toward that goal.

So, that’s what Ephesians 6:1 is telling us. “Finally my brethren be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might…” Can’t you see that it’s not our natural strength and abilities that puts us over the top, and helps us to war against the ‘Powers of Darkness’?

We discover that the winning element is to be strong ‘IN THE LORD AND IN THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT’.

The Devil never honors or respects weakness. If we attempt to attack the invisible enemy forces of darkness with what we imagine to be strength, our perceived strength against them, we will lose the battle.

If we don’t fight the demonic powers in the power and might of the Lord, we will never win, but will actually lose ground.

If we are to successfully win over the Devil, we must be following His instructions and staying close to the Lord, loving Him, and obeying His Word.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking, “I don’t have to worry about any of this, because, ‘GOD FIGHTS ALL MY BATTLES FOR ME’.

READ: SHOULD I SPEAK IN TONGUES?

NO, HE DOESN’T. NO, NO, NO. That’s not a scriptural statement. There’s only two, maybe three places in the Word of God where it says, that God actually fought their battle for them, instead of them having to fight for it , ‘TRUSTING GOD’ to strengthen their hands ‘FOR WAR’.

This next scripture is one of the few exceptions.

(2 Chronicles 20:17) “You shall not (need) to fight in this (battle): set yourselves. Stand (still), and see the salvation of the Lord”.

If God fights all our battles for us, Paul would never have given us the great warfare chapter of the New Testament, Ephesians 6…. “FOR WE WRESTLE NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD, BUT AGAINST PRINCIPALITIES, AGAINST POWERS, AGAINST THE RULERS OF THE DARKNESS OF THIS WORLD, AGAINST SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS IN HIGH PLACES”.

No, He would never have told us to “PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD. WHY THEN DID HE DO THAT?

SO WE’D BE ABLE TO STAND STRONG, AND FIRMLY AGAINST THE SCHEMES AND ATTACKS OF THE DEVIL. THAT’S WHY.

In finishing this article, let me mention a very important point about being strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. If you are saved but have never been Baptized in the Holy Spirit, then ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit.

You can never operate out of Ephesians Chapter six, and be as strong, and as wise, and know, that you know what to do unless you are filled with the Spirit of the Living God. AMEN.
