Paul says we look through a glass darkly in I Corinthians 13:12 “For now we see through a ‘mirror’ darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part, but then shall I know even as I am known”.
There’s a lot of things that we don’t know. There’s a lot of things that we will know better when we get to heaven.
But then, there’s a lot of things that the Scripture talks about that we can know a whole lot more about than we do. And this subject of being ‘SEALED’ BY THE HOLY SPIRIT IS ONE OF THEM.
(Ephesians 1:13) “In whom you also trusted, after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: In whom also after that you believed, ‘YOU WERE ‘SEALED’ WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE. Which is the ‘EARNEST‘ of our ‘INHERITANCE‘ until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory”.
The Holy Spirit is a ‘SEAL‘. As a Seal the Holy Spirit is given to the believer as God’s ‘MARK OF OWNERSHIP‘.
We talk of assurance of our salvation, HERE IT IS. It’s powerfully contained in this teaching of ‘BEING SEALED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE’.
This teaching is important, yes, but the proof of it, the manifestation of the Spirit in our life is what provides the ‘BLESSED ASSURANCE’ that you belong to the Father, and are a born again child of God.
The Seal of the Holy Spirit is the most important evidence to us that we belong to God, and are His. The Word of God is also bound into this equation, and both are necessary in order to know that we are saved and on our way to heaven.

This Seal of the Holy Spirit is the evidence that we are children of God, and that Seal is seen and manifested in us ‘BY THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND WHAT WE SEE HIM DO THROUGH US DAILY.
When we are walking close to God and are consistent in our faith and obedience to Him, His presence and Spirit is constantly assuring us that we are His and that He is with us all the time, and everywhere we go.
(Rom. 8:16) “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are God’s children”.
Only as we walk in the Spirit and obey Him, does the Holy Spirit bear witness with our Spirit that we belong to Him.
How can He bear witness to our Spirits when sin is in our lives. Is it possible for God’s Spirit to bear witness with our rebellious Spirit.
Of course not, because that is a contradiction of terms. It is written in Amos 3:3 “How can two walk together except they be in agreement?” Well, they can’t. It’s impossible.

When we’re loving God with all our heart, trusting Him, obeying Him, and walking in the Spirit we’re pleasing Him, and His Spirit is constantly saying, “Child, I’m pleased with you, keep it up.
The way you encouraged that person, The ‘Spirit’ tells you, is that you were following My leading, my precious child.
Nobody was visiting and comforting that lonely, discouraged person whom I love, but you did? You’re my sweet son. You’re my sweet daughter.
Those are facets of that wonderful glorious ‘SEAL’ OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Everything, I mean everything that you do for God (not to earn credit with the Lord), but everything you do out of love for Him pleases Him so much.
He is so pleased and radiates back to you, a beautiful witness of His Spirit to your spirit that you are His child and are pleasing Him.

The Seal of the Holy Spirit is not just one aspect of Himself, and His operations, but many.
Every leading, every seeming coincidence, that turns out to be an appointment with God, an arrangement that seemingly just happened, but amazed you and the person you were encouraging, was an appointment with your loving Lord.
Through this, the Holy Spirit is witnessing with your Spirit that you are a son, a daughter of God, so ‘REJOICE’.
I don’t think many of us stop to consider that not only does God witness to our Spirit that we are ‘children of His’, but ‘our spirit’ ‘ITSELF’ witnesses to us that we are children of God.
A disobedient Christian’s guilty conscience is witnessing to him that he is not right with God. That if he died right then, in that condition he wouldn’t go to heaven.
A guilty conscience because of unrepented sin brings condemnation and that is what his own spirit (our own spirit) is witnessing to. There can be no witness of God’s Spirit with our spirit at that time, only condemnation.
(I John 3:18) “My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth, and by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. BUT IF OUR HEART CONDEMNS US, GOD IS GREATER THAN OUR HEARTS, AND KNOWS ALL THINGS.
BELOVED, IF OUR HEART DOES NOT CONDEMN US, WE HAVE CONFIDENCE TOWARD GOD. AND WHATSOEVER WE ASK WE RECEIVE OF HIM BECAUSE WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS AND DO THOSE THINGS THAT ARE PLEASING IN HIS SIGHT”
This scripture is all about our heart witnessing to our own spirit, first of all that we are right with God.
Then on top of our own spirit witnessing to our heart that we are right with God, then, the Holy Spirit witnesses to our obedient heart and clear conscious, that we truly are sons and daughters of God.
There we have it. A DOUBLE WITNESS, there it is.
The witness of the Holy Spirit along with the witness of our own spirit gives us a sense of a deep settled peace. It is peace with God (that everything’s alright), and we have the ‘peace of God, which is a sense of peace and calm, of rest and joy in ourselves and in Christ Jesus our Lord. Praise God.
We know we belong to God when the Holy Spirit regenerates and renews us (John 3:3) Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Truly, truly, I say unto you, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”.
Another piece of evidence of the seal and our acceptance with God is He delivers us from the power of sin.
(Romans 8:1) “There is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh , but after the Spirit”.
Every day we must choose whether we will yield our members to the lust of the flesh, and the lust of our eyes, and to the pride of life, or to the Spirit of God, righteousness, to the blessing and encouragement of others, and to the kingdom of God.
NOW, ONE OF THE MOST EXCITING EVIDENCES OF THE ‘SEAL’ OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, IS THE PROOF AND EVIDENCE THAT SPRINGS FORTH FROM BEING BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY SPIRIT.
I have been literally stunned and amazed at what God will do through us by His Spirit, simply by acting on the Word, reaching out to others, and watching how the Spirit flows through us. IT’S JUST AMAZING. IT’S SIMPLY AMAZING.
Wouldn’t you agree that we really need special help from God when it comes to the raw, wild, evil power of dealing with (EVIL SPIRIT?).
In the area of casting out evil spirits , I have seen where the (literal power and knowledge, and wisdom of the Holy Spirit would come through me) to deliver the demon possessed.
Casting out evil spirits is much easier if you’ve received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues.
In this message I won’t go into a study on tongues, but I will say, that there are several types of tongues which serve different purposes.
On the day of Pentecost those filled with the Spirit, were heard glorifying God in languages they had never learned and didn’t even understand, but people from many different nations heard them speak the wonderful works of God in their native tongue” (Acts 2:5-11).
Tongues may be worship to the Father. It may be a conversation with the Father. it may be directed to someone of a foreign tongue to encourage them, welcome them, or solve a problem for them.
It may be given as a warning to another in their language, it may be telling them the plan of salvation in their language and many other instances of such.
I’ve seen many of these, talked to other Spirit filled Christians who’ve seen these and even other wonderful proofs of the Spirit being the ‘Seal’, of and assurance that we are His children.
And He does this by the amazing works He accomplishes in and through His people.
But one that is so powerful and one that is so needful is where the Indwelling Holy Spirit helps us in deliverance. (Rom 8:26-28).
The Holy Spirit knows all languages, right? Both earthly and heavenly, and Scripture even talks about the tongues (languages) of angels in I Cor. 13:1).
There are many types of tongues, and one of them is a ‘WARFARE TONGUE’, to rebuke and battle evil spirits with.
These ‘WARFARE TONGUES’, are languages that the demons know, and in their language we (by the anointing and inspiration of the Holy Spirit) bind, rebuke, tell them their sentence, tell them where to go, and tell them to never return again.
And in the name of Jesus they must obey, because Scripture says, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10-11).
And that’s all spoken through the Spirit filled believers own lips. God literally gives you the ability to speak to the demon in a language he understands.
At times you will quote appropriate scripture and give powerful commands in tongues, that defeats the evil spirit and casts him out by the power of the Holy Spirit.
While commanding a ‘demon spirit’ out in Holy Ghost tongues, that spirit spoke through the lips of the person going through deliverance and with fear asked me about the scripture I had just spoke in tongues.
Yes, the Word of God and commands for a demon to leave whether in our native language or in (Tongues of the ‘Spirit’) will assure us that, that spirit must leave, he doesn’t have a choice.
And, yes, Satan has been around for 1,000’s of years and has learned many of our human languages. And collectively demons know all human languages.
In one deliverance service, this demon was talking through the lips of this lady, and I started directing this warfare tongue against that demon.
And that lady backed up to the wall of the church, and in great fear, kept shaking her head and saying, “DON’T TALK TO ME LIKE THAT?”
That demon understood that language and was reacting to it with great fear and dread.
No doubt, I was rebuking that spirit, and commanding it to go in Jesus name.
In another case where we had battled this evil spirit for several hours, and deliverance was almost completed, I had told the lady to command the spirit guides to come out.
I said to the lady, “You know you have spirit guides don’t you?”
She replied, “Yes”.
I said, “You know how many you have, don’t you”.
And she said, “Yes, I have five”.
She knew there were five of them, and she called four of them out by name, but she couldn’t remember the name of the last one.
That spirit guide made her forget the last one’s name. It was important for her to call the last one out or she wouldn’t get delivered.
She wouldn’t get free because that last demon would act as a ‘DOOR OPENER’ and let those other spirit guides back in.
We were very tired after five hours of battling these spirits. My wife and I were sitting on the flour and the lady being delivered was sitting on the floor totally exhausted, totally quiet.
No sound was made, no words were spoken, and there was no more fight in any of us. You could have heard a pin drop.
So, we just sat there, not moving, not talking, not even thinking what we were going to do.
then, I just casually and quietly spoke one word in tongues, thinking nothing of it, and the lady going through deliverance laughed in surprise, and said, “THAT’S IT. THAT THE NAME OF THAT SPIRIT I COULDN’T REMEMBER.
How amazing, the Holy Spirit effortlessly gave me the name of that last spirit guide, without my even realizing it.
Now, that dear lady was able to address that last spirit guide by name and cast him out. PRAISE GOD!
We would call that the operation of the gift of ‘DISCERNMENT OF SPIRITS‘. It certainly wasn’t done consciously, but inadvertently. It was very powerful and it WORKED.
How beautiful, when the Holy Spirit comes to our rescue. We’ve done everything we know to do, we’re exhausted but the Holy Spirit accomplished it by a simple yielding of my tongue to Him, without any effort whatsoever.
It’s certainly not by power (not our own), nor by might, but by My Spirit says the Lord” (Zechariah 4:6) AMEN and AMEN.
We didn’t know what else to do, but the Holy Spirit did. Then she did what I told her and commanded that spirit to leave and go where Jesus would send it, and immediately it left and she was free.
Even that, shows the ‘SEAL’ of the Holy Spirit. It shows He has not abandoned us when strong demon spirits need to be cast out. He shows Himself present in the best and worst of situations.
THESE ALL ARE PROOFS THAT WE ARE ‘SEALED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE”. THESE ALL ARE EVIDENCES THAT CAN BE SEEN AND EXPERIENCED.
THEY ARE THE ASSURANCES THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE IS WITH US AND SEALED US UNTO THE DAY OF REDEMPTION.
PRAISE THE LORD, FOREVER MORE. AMEN.
