Yes, you should if you’re a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Here’s the reasons Why?
1…First, because the Bible says so. When the day of Pentecost
was fully come, It was recorded in (Acts 2:4) that they ‘ALL’ spoke in other tongues (languages), as the Spirit gave them utterance (the Spirit ‘enabled them’ to speak).

The Holy Spirit didn’t do the speaking for them, but enabled them to speak a language they never learned, fluently.
2…The Holy Spirit is not just a doctrine, but a divine person as well. It’s not enough just to believe in the Holy Spirit, but to have the reality of the biblical experience.
3…There’s power in speaking in tongues. (Acts 1:8) “But you shall receive ‘POWER’ when the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, and Judea, and Samaria and to the ends of the earth”.
In order to get done what God wants, we must have more than just a doctrine, we must have ‘POWER TO ACCOMPLISH WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE IN HIS KINGDOM.

We need Power to get people saved, and Power to heal the sick. We need Power to deliver from demon oppression, and power to raise the dead.

Have you noticed that doesn’t happen just by believing a doctrine. Have you seen it happen around you lately? No, and neither have I.
You will see it happen only as people are walking in the Spirit daily, who’s hearts and minds are constantly in the Scriptures and meditating continually upon the Word of God.
It will happen only when exercising the authority of Jesus Christ, by speaking to the dead to rise, like Jesus did.
4…Praying in Tongues is ‘ALWAYS’ praying the will of God. Praying in your native language may or may not be praying according to the will of God, because we don’t always know how, or what to pray for.
SPEAKING IN TONGUES HITS THE TARGET EVERY TIME (ROM. 8:26-28).
5…PRAYING IN TONGUES DOESN’T COME OUT OF OUR UNDERSTANDING OR MENTAL PROCESSES, BUT OUT OF OUR SPIRIT. It doesn’t leave any room for doubt. THE LEVEL OF FAITH IS HIGH ENOUGH TO RECEIVE, EVEN DIFFICULT ANSWERS TO PRAYER. But having success is tied to being close to God, and following Him wherever He leads us.
YES, IF YOU’RE A CHRISTIAN, YOU SHOULD SPEAK IN TONGUES. I DON’T KNOW ANY EXAMPLES IN SCRIPTURE WHERE GOD EVER CONDONED HIS CHILDREN NOT TO BE SPIRIT FILLED. DO YOU?
