Faithfulness is not an option in our lives but a necessity.  All structures, personal, that of the family, community, church, governmental, would fail if it were not for faithfulness established deep within the individual and society.

Faithfulness is a virtue found throughout the Word of God and expected under the law, and must be practiced under grace as well.

The requirement of faithfulness to God, His Word, His law, to marriage, and every godly obligation is strongly stressed.

Moses commanded Israel to observe God’s law without turning to the ‘right hand or to the left’.  He told them if they obeyed God’s law-word it would be well with them and their days would be prolonged.

Faithfulness and preparation go together and cannot be separated. Read the article PREPARATION IS NECESSARY. WHY? AND FOR WHAT?

(Deuteronomy 5:32-33) “You shall observe to do therefore as the Lord your God has commanded you:  You shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess”.

The New Testament also stresses faithfulness. We cannot even call ourselves Christians if we are not faithful.

The Apostle Paul writes, (Eph. 6:1) “Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment with promise”.

I’m sure you’ll be interested in a companion article of Children (adults too), who are blessed when they obey God’s word. MY CHILDREN, ATTEND TO MY WORDS, THEY ARE LIFE AND HEALING!

This was a promise made under the law, but notice it wasn’t done away with like so many believe today. The Old Testament and the Ten Commandments were not done away with.

Children are still to obey their parents under grace. IT CANNOT BE ANY OTHER WAY.

No order could be maintained, no respect could be cultured in the hearts of children. If the law was done away with, then what about the works of the flesh which the law condemned, and commanded obedience to under the law of holiness.

Is it now OK to commit adultery, steal, bear false witness, lie, gossip, be jealous or envious, no, never.

True we aren’t saved by keeping the law, (AS I SAID), because no man can keep a perfect law, and if he breaks one law, he becomes guilty of breaking all the ten commandments. SO BECAUSE OF THE WEAKNESS OF THE FLESH, THE LAW HAS BEEN DONE AWAY WITH IN REGARDS TO GETTING SAVED.

ONLY BY THE GRACE OF GOD, THROUGH FAITH CAN WE EVER BE SAVED, AND CERTAINLY NOT BY THE TEN COMMANDMENTS.

BUT LISTEN CLOSELY. THOUGH WE CANNOT GET SAVED BY KEEPING THE LAW, WE CAN LOSE OUR SALVATION BY NOT OBEYING THE COMMANDMENTS.

WE CAN BE LOST BY VIOLATING SUCH COMMANDMENTS AS ‘YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT LIE… and so on.

(Ephesians 2:8-9) “For by grace are you saved by faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works unless any man should boast”.

Proof of what I’m saying is found in Galatians 5:19-21 The works of the flesh is simply the breaking of the Law of God’.

And again I say, “though we cannot be saved by keeping the law, we certainly can be lost by breaking it.

And when we break the law we need to quickly repent. When we repent we are brought back under the blood covenant which brings us back into right fellowship with God.

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest which are these, adultery, fornication, uncleanness (sexual impurity), lasciviousness (sexual excess),

The dictionary defines ‘Faithfulness as being ‘Loyal, Constant, Steadfast’, true, devoted, staunch. and dependable

Child of God, be faithful, to God and obey His Word.  Be dependable. If you are responsible for a task, or work, or a person, be that person that others can count on.

One who will never let them down. That is the only path that leads to heaven and life eternal.  If you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and live according to the Word you will be saved.

Jesus said, “I am the light of the world, he that ‘FOLLOWS ME’ shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12).

READ: A PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS

If Jesus is the light of the world and we follow Him, we shall not walk in darkness.  Darkness leads to destruction and hell.  If we follow Jesus, where will that take us?

Certainly not in dark paths. Where is Jesus leading us?  All along the pathway of usefulness in this life, all along the pathway that encourages and blesses others.

Jesus shed light along our pathway so we can avoid the darkness of sin and selfishness, and in following Him in the light, we will finally end up at the beautiful gates of heaven.  Amen.
