First, every sincere and genuine Christian ought to have received the Baptism in the Spirit, but if not, he should not rest until he/she receives the real, biblical Baptism in the Holy Ghost.
The Spirit filled life is not optional, but mandatory to ever born-again believer. The believers were commanded to tarry in Jerusalem ‘UNTIL’ they were endued with power from on high.

On the day of Pentecost when the Spirit was outpoured, Suddenly, from heaven (ye shall be endued with ‘power’, where? ‘FROM ON HIGH’, or from God out of heaven”.
(Luke 24:49) “And Jesus said, “behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
(Acts 2:4) says, “They were ‘ALL’ filled with the Holy Ghost and ‘ALL’ spoke with tongues as the Spirit gave them ‘UTTERANCE’, or the ability to speak by the Spirit’s enablement.

Having given you the foundation I would like to show you some wonderful things about speaking in tongues (time and space don’t allow for much), but here goes.
READ: YOU’VE PRAYED, “LORD, WHERE SHOULD I GIVE”, AND THEN YOU PULLED US UP.
(Rom. 8:26-27) “For we know not what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit maketh intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered.”
Have you ever felt this way? Not knowing what to pray for and how to pray for it? I surely have and speaking in tongues is the answer to this.
Groaning in the Spirit is a very pure and high form of intercession, but we’re not dealing with that today. Don’t put yourself and tongues in a box, because Tongues of the Spirit are ‘UNLIMITED’.
READ, IMPORTANT: DON’T GIVE UP
I know this may stun you, but let us recover quickly, and begin to use this powerful tool, and language/s of the Spirit to get things done in both the natural and spiritual realm that nothing else can accomplish.
Tongues is the language of Heaven and of the Spirit. Yet, tongues operate in two realms, the spirit realm and in the natural realm. The speaker may speak in tongues which is a natural language, or speak a language of angels.
I’m sure you’ve heard, that when you speak in tongues the devil can’t understand you. Right?
Question. Does Satan and demons know human languages? Of course they do, because they have been in and around humans of all cultures and languages and have had centuries to learn the many languages.
So, on Pentecost those filled with the Spirit spoke languages of many nations, and the people understood them in their own tongue speaking the wonderful works of God, (the mighty deeds of God) (ACTS 2:11). We’ve seen and heard that same thing happen in our ministry, and the ministry of other Spirit filled believers and ministries.
One ‘Prayer Warrior’ was praying and asking the Lord about a certain situation, saying, “HOW LONG LORD, BEFORE YOU DO SUCH AND SUCH…? There were a group of Christians praying at the altar at the front of the church and I wasn’t even conscious of him or anyone else at the moment because I was speaking in tongues.
Suddenly, with great surprise, he shouted out, “YOU’VE DONE IT AGAIN”. I had no idea what he was talking about until he explained. He said, and I repeat, “I was just praying and asking God, “How long, Lord, before you answer such and such? And in a language he understood, I spoke, but not knowing that language said, “BE PATIENT A LITTLE LONGER, THE ANSWERS ON THE WAY“.
Now back to the thought that demons of centuries past understood the languages the Holy Spirit was giving those filled with the Spirit on the day of Pentecost.
That was bad news for them, because now God had endued the believers with power to Witness and do the great works of God. These believers were anointed to Heal the Sick, and cast out demons.
Now the unseen demons couldn’t hide and cause trouble undetected anymore because the Believers were given the ‘Gift of Discerning of Spirits’.
The demons couldn’t trick the Christians anymore and Believers would know what they were up to, know where they were, how many there were and what kind of demons they were and could cast them out.
UNBELIEVABLE REVELATION: SEATED WITH CHRIST IN HEAVENLY PLACES
Tongues at times are spoken in human languages, but the speaker himself doesn’t understand it. That is happening currently in our day. People visiting our churches who don’t speak our language, have at times, heard someone speak in tongues, (which is their native language). They have heard them explain to them the gospel of salvation, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. At times they have been told of their secret sin, their need for repentance, and their need of acceptance of Jesus full work at Calvary.
THERE IS A WARFARE TONGUE THAT IS VERY AUTHORITATIVE AND HARSH, SPOKEN DIRECTLY TO DEMONS..
THAT GIFT TELLS OF THEIR DEMISE, AND BINDS THEM AND PUSHES BACK THE DARKNESS THAT THEY OPERATE IN.
I have spoken this warfare tongue a number of times. One time in a service, I was speaking to a demon that was being cast out in deliverance.
As I spoke in this warfare tongue, the demon understood what I was saying, and the person backed up shaking their head with the demon speaking through their lips saying, “NO, NO, DON’T TALK TO ME THAT WAY”.

Demons are terrified when you speak to them in a warfare tongue because they understand it and must obey because it is the authority of Christ Himself as spoken by the Spirit.
REAL BUT MYSTERIOUS VOICES: VOICES
Then by the Spirit you may speak a heavenly language (language of angels). Satan and demons know many of the languages of angels because they at one time were pure angels who dwelt in heaven like the other angels for perhaps millions of years before they rebelled and were cast down to the earth with Satan.

But, I believe there are languages in heaven that Satan doesn’t know (and even a language that God speaks that no one, neither men nor angels understand).
VERY IMPORTANT: STANDING ALONE
God let’s you speak some of these heavenly languages that demons don’t know and have no way of combating, and he is defeated before he knows what is happening.
He doesn’t know what to do about this unbeatable assault on him in the Spirit (tongues).

Then, there are many more ways tongues work in the spirit and natural realm, and God has graciously given this wonderful gift to help the believer, the church, and God’s kingdom.
